Data Deletion Instructions

DealerPal processes messaging and business data on behalf of car dealerships (“Dealers”) who connect their WhatsApp, Facebook Page, or Instagram Business account to our service. This page explains how to request deletion of personal data we hold — including how to delete your entire account or only specific data categories.
1. Two ways to delete your data
You can request either of the following:
- Full account deletion — your entire DealerPal account is deleted, including all business data, messaging history, and connected Meta tokens.
- Partial data deletion — your account stays active, but specific data categories are deleted. For example: only message history, only customer conversations from a specific date range, only photos, only the AI knowledge base, or only a specific connected Meta channel (WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram).
2. If you are an end user who messaged a Dealer
The Dealer is the data controller of the conversation. Contact the Dealer directly and ask them to delete your messages; they can do so from within DealerPal. If you cannot reach the Dealer, email privacy@dealerpal.co.il with the Dealer’s name and the phone number or handle you used. We will forward the request to the Dealer and, where we are able, delete the underlying records from our systems within 30 days.
3. If you are a Dealer (our direct customer)
3a. Full account deletion
To request full account deletion, email privacy@dealerpal.co.il from the email address on file with the subject line “Full account deletion request.”
3b. Partial data deletion
To request partial data deletion, email privacy@dealerpal.co.il with the subject line “Partial data deletion request”and specify which data categories you want removed (e.g., “delete all WhatsApp conversations older than 90 days”, “delete all photos”, or “disconnect Instagram only”).
For either request type, we will confirm receipt, revoke any relevant Meta access tokens, disconnect webhooks where applicable, and complete the deletion within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (see §5).
4. What gets deleted
For a full account deletion, all of the following are removed:
- Account profile and authentication records.
- Dealer business data: vehicle inventory, photos, knowledge base, brand settings, posts, and content drafts.
- All messaging content received from Meta platforms (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram) and any replies generated by the service.
- Encrypted Meta access tokens and refresh tokens.
- Push-notification device tokens.
- Event logs referencing the Dealer or their end users.
- Cached customer profile data.
For a partial data deletion, only the categories you specify are removed. Your account, settings, and other data remain intact.
5. What we retain, and for how long
We retain only the minimum required to comply with law or to prevent fraud. Specifically:
- Deletion request audit record (timestamp, email, confirmation ID) — retained for 24 months to demonstrate compliance with deletion obligations.
- Billing and invoicing records (invoice number, amount, VAT ID, date) — retained for 7 years as required by Israeli tax law (Income Tax Ordinance, Bookkeeping Regulations 1973, §25–§36) and equivalent obligations under the EU VAT Directive where applicable.
- Anti-fraud and security logs (IP address, login attempts, access tokens revocation events) — retained for 12 months in isolated, access-restricted storage. Not used to re-profile you.
- Backups — encrypted database backups are kept for 30 days and then permanently destroyed. Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 30 days after deletion but is not accessible to humans or services during that window.
Retained records are isolated and are not used to re-profile you, target you with marketing, or train models.
6. Response time
We acknowledge every request within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation with a deletion reference ID.
